An Ecocity & Industry with a great future

The result of our commitment to the Ecosessions was that the conferences were completely booked up. Attendees were able to learn about the latest environmental solutions and find answers to many of their needs.

The show brought together 160 exhibitors and was visited by almost 9,000 people. Among the most interesting new products were Barcelona’s new rubbish containers which have been completely adapted for people with disabilities and will be delivered to the city streets in November.

More long-lasting materials
The meeting gave recyclers in the Mediterranean region an opportunity to analyse the sector’s situation and corroborate the fact that extending the life of materials is going to be essential in the future.

Sustainability champions
The show was the venue for the seventh Sustainable City Awards 2009. Murcia won the category of Sustainable City while Stockholm won the prize for Green City 2010.

A new impetus for cities
The conference on “Economic Crisis, Social Cohesion and Urban Regeneration: Challenges and Opportunities” dealt with the resources available for driving forward regeneration processes in this new economic context.
